Smell and Feel Great
We all know that one person that smells good no matter what time of the day you meet him or her. In an ideal world, everybody would smell this way, but not everyone can have that advantage. The good news is that smelling good is not a genetic trait. Anyone can smell nice and fresh all day. Although the use of perfumes and other fragrances will give you a nice scent, you don't need to rely on just that. There are other things we can do to help ourselves stay smelling great all day.
While taking your bath regularly is a no brainer to smelling nice, there are some other conditions you need to factor in if you want to have a long-lasting, refreshing smell. Of course, using fragrances is vital, however, you need to understand the type of perfume or cologne you wear and figure out what's right for your skin. Of course we suggest Bee Adored's line of highly fragranced Lotions, body butters and Body Sprays after a shower but other things are also important.
What you put in your body will help!
Whoever said the words "water is life" definitely wasn't kidding. Body odor is a natural occurrence mainly caused by sweating. Sweating is your body's way of regulating your inner temperature but it can also make your body lose a lot of water. Losing too much water will leave you dehydrated and that will make you weak, tired, and bring your performance to an all-time low. Dehydration also makes bad smells stronger. Use any of our lotions or body butters along with 8 - 8oz glasses of water a day to keep skin hydration high!
Choosing the fragrance that fits your body is not as easy as it looks. It takes effort and a great sense of judgment. Everything smells different on everyone! Our Lotions, Body Butters and Sprays are highly fragranced so they will last all day but we also have some scents that are stronger than others. Cougar for instance is an amazing scent but it is potent! On the other hand we have Lily of the Valley which is also an amazing scent but not as potent as some others.
How you apply fragrance is as important as the type of fragrance itself. No matter how expensive your perfume, cologne, or scented oil is, if you don't apply it to the right places, you won't get the maximum effect. Perfumes should be applied to pulse points that will make its fragrance naturally adapt to your body chemistry. So, when your body heats up, the nice fragrance is automatically released. Pulse points to apply deodorant includes - your wrists, back of your ears, and behind your knees.
Spraying perfume directly on your hair is harmful to your scalp because it can damage the roots of your hair. It's always advisable to spray your hairbrush. Spraying your hairbrush will reduce the chemical impact of the perfume while giving your hair a nice scent.
Applying several mixtures of perfumes might be overdoing it. Instead, you can use lotions or oil. They last longer when applied to a moist base. Using lotions and creams will moisturise your skin with a nice fragrance. They also play well with other body care products, so you can apply a perfume too. This is why we offer all of our scents in Lotion, Butter and Spray.
Lotion is more hydrating and non-sticky. The water content in lotion is higher, which spreads more and carries less fatty matter. They can be applied to the face and contain some amount of SPF, which is an add-on point when you go for lotions.
Lotions can be used both during day and night. They are non-comedogenic and do not clog pores.
Use body butter when you need a more intensive moisturiser. This is ideal for rougher skin, as well as all over the body.
Butters carry less water and spread less in comparison to lotion. Body butters are raw and basic and lotions are more refined. It cannot be applied to the face because our facial skin is way very sensitive and applying butters can lead to acne or dark facial colour due to the excessive content of greasiness and less water content.
Butters should be preferably be used during night time as our skin is in the repair mode when we sleep. Hence, it tends to be more effective when used at night.
It's natural for the feet to give off a different smell after spending a long time in an enclosed space such as your shoes. Wearing socks can only reduce the smell but they can't completely obliterate it. That's where spraying some body spray into your shoes can help!
Having a signature fragrance doesn't come by chance. It has to be intentional. If you want your clothes and other fashion items to smell nice, you may need to spray them. Of course, you don't want to spend hours spraying every cloth you own. Hence, spraying the wardrobe where you store your clothes is more effective. You may do this at least once a week. The procedure will give you a long-lasting signature scent that isn't too strong but calm and charming. It will also make your clothes blend well with other fragrances.
For some people, smelling good for 24 hours a day takes conscious effort. There is a limit to how long perfumes and lotions can last on the body. So, you need to apply it at least twice a day to keep your body smelling fresh. We all sweat during work hours and the best way to stay fresh is to reapply perfume. You should have a small bottle of perfume in hand at all times.
Smelling good round the clock involves a lot more than applying perfume to the body. There are some home essentials you can also apply fragrances on so they smell nice. A good example would be your pillow and bedsheets. You sleep on them every day and most likely sweat on them too. If you want to keep your body fresh, spray fragrances lightly on your sheets to give them a nice scent. You'll also find sleeping in them more comfortable that way.
